The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reports that 279,328 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in February 2026. This shows a strong 16.2% increase compared to February last year, highlighting the steady growth of the countryโs tourism sector. ๐
India remained the leading source market, contributing 47,679 visitors, which accounts for 17% of total arrivals in February ๐ฎ๐ณ. The United Kingdom followed with 30,788 tourists ๐ฌ๐ง, while Russia recorded 23,099 arrivals ๐ท๐บ. Germany brought in 22,566 visitors ๐ฉ๐ช, China added 20,180 travellers ๐จ๐ณ, and 17,174 tourists arrived from France ๐ซ๐ท.
From January 1 to February 28, 2026, Sri Lanka welcomed a total of 556,655 tourists. During this period, India contributed 99,740 visitors, the United Kingdom recorded 60,328 arrivals, and Russia accounted for 50,233 tourists. ๐ด
