The continued growth in arrivals from a diverse range of international markets provides opportunities for businesses across Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, including hotels, restaurants, transport providers, tour operators and attractions. Strong demand from key markets such as India, the UK, China and European countries also highlights the importance of maintaining a broad international tourism strategy.
The latest figures come as Sri Lanka continues efforts to strengthen its position as a leading tourism destination in the region, supported by its diverse cultural, natural, wellness and leisure experiences.
With more than 1.53 million international visitors recorded by the end of August, the tourism sector remains an important contributor to Sri Lanka’s wider economic activity and continues to create opportunities for businesses connected to travel and hospitality.
